The way I think about lifestyle photography is artful storytelling. Its a hybrid form of photography that captures authentic moments and connection in a curated, artistic way.

I love this approach because it gives me, as your lifestyle family photographer, an opportunity to create a joyful, relaxed experience. This creates an environment that allows you and your loved ones to be your true selves and enjoy each other’s company.

Lifestyle Photography Session Offerings
My photography services go above and beyond simply taking and editing photos. It involves identifying locations that you will enjoy and that – through lighting and surroundings – beautifully showcase your love. I also provide guidance to select outfits that complement each individual’s features. And, I take time to get to know your personalities and your vision for the session so I can plan the flow of the session and prompts that will make you comfortable and encourage fun.
Lifestyle Photography Session Flow
The flow of my session always includes a few “money shots” with (ideally) all the family members smiling at the camera. We keep our expectations in check for the little ones! I find that most families like having these to show grandparents or put on holiday cards. I’ll prompt this style photo in several spots throughout a typical session. But most of the rest of the time I will be encouraging you to move around, connect with each other, and enjoy your surroundings. Together, we will curate moments that photograph beautifully and create an experience you will enjoy and look back fondly on.

Displaying Lifestyle Family Photos
Look out for a more detailed blog post about wall decor and prints soon!
I think lifestyle family photos are the best kind to display because they infuse life and personality into your decor. Some large canvas prints could be beautiful for a living room. A gallery wall of smaller prints showing your family growing and changing over the years could be stunning too. Or, consider a few large conversation piece prints — maybe a photo from your gallery with everyone laughing at a joke or someone making a silly face. My opinion? Save the portraits of everyone smiling at the camera for Holiday cards and put up the photos that show your family’s unique character around your home!
